A new survey, conducted by Sage Research, collected the responses from hundreds of IT decision-makers at enterprises that have 1,000 employees or more.

According to the research highlights, BlackBerrys still are "by far the preferred handset manufacturer among survey respondents." Despite recent challenges from a number of competitors offering smartphones targeting mobile professionals, BlackBerry's dominant position in the enterprise sector remains unchanged. "They absolutely have the first mover mover advantage in this market," says Sage Research consultant Chris Neal. "They've been around quite some time, so if there's a hangover effect it's a pretty long lasting one."
